Comments          Email     print The discovery of some body parts, that were hanging from a pipe on the fourth floor balcony of the residential-cum-commercial DD Plaza building which houses Mayur Jewellery shop at the bombed Khau Galli in Zaveri Bazaar, on Friday evening, sent a wave of panic in the locality. The discovery was made after residents and shop owners noticed a foul stench emanating from the fourth floor of the building, located at a distance of about 50 metres from Wednesday’s blast site.

From the compound below, the body remains looked like a piece of cloth. Initially, it was presumed that an entire body had been flung onto the balcony and some remains were stuck to the pipe.

The police was later summoned and after examining the balcony, it became clear that the remains belonged to one of the victims who could probably have been close to the site of the powerful blast and in the impact, his body had been shattered to pieces and flung to a considerable distance.

Senior inspector Avinash Sonawane told HT that the body appeared to be parts of the abdomen of one of the victims.  The fire brigade was latter summoned and they pulled out the body remains, which was later sent for DNA examination in order to match it with the victim.
